Welcome to the C.M. Stripling Irrigation Research Park Website!

The Stripling Irrigation Research Park (SIRP) is a state-of-the-art irrigation research and education center located in the heart of the Dougherty Plain of Georgia, on Georgia Highway 37 between Camilla and Newton. SIRP’s primary research involves cutting-edge technologies in the field of precision irrigation and precision agriculture. With a commitment to leadership and problem-solving, SIRP assists in an agricultural-based economy that relies considerably on a critical but finite resource: water. Current research studies focus on water conservation as well as water management using a variety of smart systems for irrigation.

    • 1013 in 2013!

      Stripling Park is pleased to note that 1013 guests visited the Park during 2013. This is a record number of visitors to the facility in a single year – a 14.6% increase over 2012. SIRP hosts many UGA events at the facility, including workshops, field days and 4-H camps, and is especially appreciative of the numerous outside groups that choose to hold events at the Park.

  • The Irrigation Association recently recognized Stripling Park as the 2013 Smart Marketing Contest winner in the Ag Affiliate category for their “July is Smart Irrigation Month” campaign.
